is for godwin

After receiving his education in architecture + engineering at the University of Washington and UC Berkeley, Godwin has served the Seattle design community as a city government official (Planning + Development) for the past 10 years.  His voice in advocating education + outreach to the public has realized a number of programs that engage local architects, engineers, homeowners and college students.  His involvement in ‘green building’ not only earned him a national Emerging Leader in Sustainable Design award in 2008, but also helps put City of Seattle on the map in that area. His critique for Downtown design review has also encouraged innovative design and revolutionized the Planner role in a regulatory agency.

Godwin started studioGQ with his life partner in further pursuit of good design with their own creations.  In his work – from buildings to objects – he tries to strike a perfect balance between form, function, color and texture.  He finds inspiration in the surprising details of the everyday, and expresses a unique simplistic sensibility in his design.
